Domestic LMV-1 • Smart postpaid • 2026
Estimate your monthly domestic electricity bill with this UPPCL Smart Meter Postpaid Bill Calculator 2026. Enter billed units or meter readings, select your tariff category and add bill-specific adjustments. The calculator shows energy slabs, fixed charges and the estimated amount payable after entered credits.
Calculate Your Smart Postpaid Bill
For one standard monthly billing cycle under domestic LMV-1. Confirm your account is postpaid and use the category printed on your bill. Multi-month bills, solar settlement and time-of-day tariffs need separate calculations.
Units = (current reading − previous reading) × multiplying factor. If the meter was replaced or reset, use official billed units instead.
Add duty, adjustments and account credits (optional)
All fields below are rupee amounts for this bill. Blank means 0. Do not include the same item twice.

How to Use the Postpaid Calculator
- Select the domestic category and sanctioned load shown on your current bill.
- Enter the month’s billed units, or use matching previous and current readings with the meter multiplying factor.
- Open the adjustments section to add duty, FPPAS, other charges or arrears. Deduct recognised payments or credits only once.
- Select Calculate Postpaid Bill and compare the breakdown with your official statement.
When estimating a bill before it is issued, adjustment amounts may not yet be known. Leaving them at zero gives an energy-and-fixed-charge estimate, not an all-inclusive bill. The result lists the adjustments included.
Domestic Tariff Rates Used for 2026
The energy and fixed-charge presets below follow the tariff-payable column in UPPCL’s FY 2026–27 tariff notice. They are domestic LMV-1 rates; commercial, bulk-supply and solar accounts need their own arrangements.
| Category | Monthly energy slabs (₹/kWh) | Fixed charge |
|---|---|---|
| Other metered domestic / urban | First 150: ₹5.50; next 150: ₹6.00; above 300: ₹6.50 | ₹110/kW/month |
| Metered rural schedule | First 100: ₹3.35; next 50: ₹3.85; next 150: ₹5.00; above 300: ₹5.50 | ₹90/kW/month |
| Eligible lifeline | Up to 100: ₹3.00 | ₹50/kW/month |
Lifeline calculation requires a contracted load of 1 kW and consumption up to 100 kWh/month. The calculator does not grant eligibility or automatically switch a connection into that category.
Presets use rates after the subsidy reflected in the published payable column. Do not deduct that subsidy again. For a bill covering an earlier tariff period or an unusual billing cycle, check the relevant order and official bill.
Worked Example: 220 Units and a 2 kW Load
For the other metered domestic preset, 220 kWh gives ₹825 for the first 150 units and ₹420 for the remaining 70: ₹1,245 in energy charges. A 2 kW load adds ₹220 in monthly fixed charges.
The example button also enters an illustrative duty amount of ₹73.25, producing ₹1,538.25 with no other adjustments. This is an example input, not an automatic duty rule. Replace it with the amount applicable to your bill.
Energy = sum of units in each slab × that slab’s rate
Fixed charge = sanctioned kW × monthly fixed-charge rate
Balance = energy + fixed + duty + FPPAS + other charges + arrears − entered credits
Payable = max(balance, 0); estimated excess credit = max(−balance, 0)
Smart Postpaid Billing and Your Account
Postpaid billing means paying for a completed billing period. A smart meter records consumption; the account’s billing mode determines whether the service is postpaid or prepaid. Check your latest statement or official account rather than relying on the meter’s appearance.
UPPCL’s website provides smart postpaid information, consumption and bill access through its SMART app, and separate prepaid recharge services. Start from the official UPPCL website to find the service for your connection. This calculator does not access your account or process payments.
Read the smart meter prepaid-to-postpaid guide for related account checks. If your connection is prepaid, use the UPPCL Prepaid Meter Calculator instead.
Duty, FPPAS, Arrears and Credits
Enter each adjustment as a rupee amount. FPPAS can vary by period, so no fixed fuel-surcharge percentage is built in. UPPCL publishes period-specific notices on its tariff details page.
Use Other current charges for items such as a separately billed security instalment or late fee. An arrear belongs in Outstanding arrears; it is not new electricity consumption. Credits or payments already recognised against the bill belong in the deduction field. Do not enter a credit twice, for example as both a negative FPPAS adjustment and a separate credit.
The tool applies no automatic prepaid discount, prompt-payment rebate or time-of-day adjustment. If your bill recognises a rebate, enter the actual rupee credit. An excess-credit result is an estimated account balance and does not guarantee a refund.
Why Your Official Bill May Differ
This calculator models one normal monthly cycle using the selected preset. It does not automatically prorate slabs for partial months, divide an uneven multi-month period, calculate penalties for excess demand, apply time-of-day rates, or determine tax eligibility. Meter replacement, estimated readings, revised bills and account corrections also require the official statement.
If the bill looks high, first compare readings, dates and kWh. Then separate current energy charges from fixed charges, arrears and adjustments. Use the Meter Reading Calculator or the Smart Meter High Bill guide for further checks.
Solar import and export require separate settlement. Use the UPPCL Solar Net Metering Calculator for a unit-netting estimate. Do not treat total inverter generation as a credit in this postpaid calculator.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a smart meter have a separate domestic unit rate?
The presets use the selected LMV-1 tariff category. The tool does not add a surcharge merely because the meter is smart. Confirm your category and any account-specific charges on the bill.
Can I use daily consumption from the app?
Add the daily kWh for the same complete monthly billing cycle, then enter the total. A partial month’s units do not by themselves produce an official full-month bill.
Are electricity duty and fuel adjustments included?
Only the amounts you enter are included. Their default is zero, so check these fields before treating the result as a complete bill estimate.
Can lifeline rates be used above 100 monthly units?
This calculator stops that estimate above the stated consumption limit or when the load is not 1 kW. Use your actual regular category and verify your account’s tariff treatment.
What if my current reading is below the previous reading?
Check dates, meter replacement and register selection. The tool rejects a negative reading difference. Use the billed units on the official statement when a reset or replacement occurred.
Does zero consumption mean a zero bill?
No. The fixed-charge calculation still applies, and entered non-energy charges or arrears can remain.
Can I pay my UPPCL bill here?
No. Use the bill payment service reached from the official UPPCL website or official app. This page only estimates charges.
