Use this UPPCL Solar Net Metering Calculator to estimate net grid units, billable energy units and surplus solar units from import, export and banked units.

How UPPCL Net Metering Works
UPPCL’s 2026 smart-prepaid guidance explains net metering as the difference between grid import and solar export. When export exceeds import, the energy charge can fall to zero while fixed charges, electricity duty and other applicable charges can still remain. Surplus solar units may carry forward within the financial-year settlement framework.
This calculator uses a simple billing-period netting estimate. Actual smart-prepaid billing can use more granular daily netting, so your official bill can differ.
Solar Size and Sanctioned Load
UPNEDA guidance says rooftop capacity is subject to sanctioned connected load and distribution-network limits. Confirm technical feasibility and current net-metering rules before installation.
