Use this UPPCL Prepaid Meter Calculator to estimate how much of a recharge may remain available after old arrears recovery, and how long the remaining balance may last based on your average daily electricity use.
UPPCL Prepaid Meter Calculator 2026
How UPPCL Prepaid Recharge Allocation Works
UPPCL’s April 2026 smart prepaid FAQ explains that some consumers who still have old postpaid arrears may have part of each recharge diverted toward those dues. For domestic users, the FAQ describes recovery bands ranging from 10% to 25% of the recharge depending on the size of the arrears. Non-domestic recovery can be 25%.
Because the exact recovery percentage is account-specific, this calculator lets you select the percentage shown or communicated for your account instead of assuming one value for everyone.
2% Prepaid Discount
UPPCL’s 2026 smart prepaid guidance states that consumers who keep a positive prepaid balance receive an additional 2% tariff discount. In this calculator, that discount is applied only to the estimated daily electricity cost, not to old arrears.
How Many Days Will My Recharge Last?
Enter your average daily electricity cost from recent smart-meter data. The calculator divides the estimated usable balance by that daily cost. The result is only an estimate because actual daily consumption changes with weather, appliance use, fixed charges and monthly adjustments.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does every recharge lose 25% to arrears?
No. The percentage depends on the account and arrears situation. Use the percentage shown for your account or current UPPCL guidance.
Can a prepaid meter disconnect when balance reaches zero?
Yes, after any applicable protected hours or emergency-credit rules are exhausted. Recharge before the balance reaches zero to avoid interruption.
